The "Brandenburger Tor"
The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin is the symbol of the reunification of Germany. The border between East and West Berlin was once here from August 13, 1961 to November 9, 1998. Fortunately there was the peaceful revolution in the GDR and a very sensible general secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Gorbatschow.
Thank you very much, Mr. Gorbatschow, for not sending tanks and for giving us freedom.
